Hello Letter Lovers...

All About the Archive

Hello there! The arrival of a new collection needing to be organized means that here at Flea Market H.Q. we're in our happy place (a.k.a. lost amongst the letters).

In the spirit of sharing the 'good mood' I thought I would use the timing of this month's newsletter to remind you, lovely subscriber, that on our website you can find close to 700 'real' letters by men and women throughout history that we've featured over the last 9 years.

If you weren't aware already, I'm delighted to say that you can search by decade. Have a scroll here to find easy to access letter series from the 1910s, 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

As the keeper of the letters I couldn't possibly pick a favorite...though, twist my arm and I'm liable to spill that I am quite partial to the 1920s when push comes to shove!

Letters Come Alive

A Whole Month

For my friends and readers in the U.S. April is 'National Letter Writing Month'. Established by the U.S.P.S in 2001 to mark the importance and significance of the letter, National Letter Writing Month is a great excuse  -- if you needed one! -- to get inspired and write to a friend or even a complete stranger. It's also a wonderful reason to pick up a Book About Letters, like perhaps 'Write For Your Life' by Anna Quindlen

(But we may just be biased as Anna kindly included Flea Market Love Letters in the book! Check out our review to read the full story.

Donate a Letter

If you've made it this far and haven't yet felt the itch to write a letter, let this be your sign! Check out the 'Donate a Letter' programme from the charity From Me to You to learn how your letters can brighten the day of someone experiencing cancer.

Write More Letters

Regular readers will recall that in last month's newsletter I mentioned an upcoming annual letter ladies pen pal meet up. There was hardly a postbox that went hungry in London that weekend! Do you have a pen pal? I'd love to hear the story!

If you'd like to sport your own postal pride you can learn more about the Flea Market Love Letters x 'Write More Letters' campaign, here
