Hello Letter Lovers...

Our 8th Birthday!

Three cheers for eight wonderful years of finding and sharing amazing one-of-a-kind real letters with this community. This project continues to spread, finding new readers and letter lovers every day. We are proud to be your source for real history written by real people, now more than ever.  

Since our start in 2017 we've shared over 720 letters from 35+ different 'series' or collections of letters. Of the decades, approximately:

• 17% are from the 1910s

• 17% are from the 1920s

• 14% are from the 1930s

• 42% are from the 1940s 

• 2% are from the 1950s

  
  

These letters touch and teach each reader differently. In this digital era we are experiencing a nostalgia for the handwritten letter that may just be the saving grace for the oldest form of communication. A return to pen and paper is happening. Thank you for being here and being part of the movement.

Rescued Letters

At Flea Market H.Q. we don't usually accept donated letters but when a letter lover got in touch earlier this year we made an exception. Click here to learn more. 

Stationery's 'Come Back'

In this charming article, a grandmother discovers that stationery is making a 'come back' with the young and so she embarks on penning a letter to her college age granddaughter. 

'Love for Our Elders'

If you haven't yet heard of the organization 'Love for Our Elders' this article about a 92 year old woman who received 700 pieces of post after she moved in a care facility is the perfect introduction.

Books About Letters

After a longer-than-anticipated break the Books About Letters series makes a return this month with the epistolary 'The Correspondent' by Virginia Evans-- a novel all at once about grief, love and the challenges of aging.
