August 4, 1943.

Dear Ranny,

I received your letter and was very glad to hear from you. I thought that you had forgotten about me. I had give up all hopes.

Ranny, how is the Army treating you? Do you like it? How is your leg?

I miss Creamy a lot. I don’t know when he will come home.I guess around Nov. or Dec. He is still down in Florida. Whenever I don’t receive any mail from him you never know how disgusted I get. I’ve never cheated on him. I don’t understand how I do it. Creamy’s brother is leaving for the Army Monday.

I can’t wait to see you boys. The Army changes you. I have a feeling its going to change Creamy from good to bad.

Youngstown is very dead. The “Idona Park” dance hall is always full of soldiers. I hate to go dancing. You see new faces every time you go.

Did Angie and Freddie get married yet? What’s holding them?

Haven’t you ever received a letter from Creamy? Write to him. I gave you his address.

Hoping that this letter finds you in the best of health and happiness.

As Ever,

Mary
