Dear Mother:

Received you welcome letter and I can’t wait to see you all again. Can’t wait to see Grandma? I’m still waiting for my Discharge yet? I’ll sure be glad to get out of the army! Especially this camp? Ralph Colla may get a discharge also, he has a punctured Ear Drum! Boy, is he happy also! I’ve gained about 10 pounds here, but still my face is thin. My teeth haven’t been fixed either. This outfit of doctors are too damn slow in doing anything for you. But when you have to do something for them, they make you jump to it. I have it easy so far, no hard work or training?

The fellow have work to about 7 o’clock in the morning and then they have to get up early the next morning for Field Inspection! Of course its never right and when it isn’t they then have to do hard labor for a week. So far I’ve been very lucky?

Last Saturday I was chose out of 170 fellows to get a 2 day Pass to go out to some big town. I went and boy, did I get drunk? I spent all my money there, so I’m broke now? Pay Day won’t be till next week. So Please sent me a $5 bill? Well ma, say hello to everybody. Hope to see you soon!

Love,

Ralph
