Well, Flea Market Love Letters readers you are an example of 'ask and ye shall receive'! In the June Newsletter I shared friend of the archive Liz Kentish's song 'Ordinary Day' and invited readers to share their favorite songs about letters.
I recommend putting up your feet and playing through the below -- perhaps it will inspire a letter or two which is always good news! Thanks to each reader who shared their favorites -- while we couldn't share each one we appreciate you reading and writing in, as always.
Swinging 60s:
Nicholas shared this classic 'Please Mr. Postman' from The Beatles. You can learn more about his fundraiser for the charity 'From Me to You', here.
And don't forget 'The King'! Julie wrote in with 'Return to Sender':
To round out the 60s, Anne shared the classic 'Take a Letter Maria' which is sure to be an ear-worm!
Legendary Letter Songs:
Friend and reader of the archive, Erin, shared an absolute must-have for the letter lover's music library.
Thanks to Marion for sending in 'Love Letters' by Alison Moyet:
'My Letter to You':
You'll have to forgive the writer but I couldn't possibly share a list without my personal favorite! Brace yourselves for 'My Letter to You' from The Boss himself:
I was lucky enough to see Springsteen perform this song live in Dublin in 2023. And in a full circle moment, I thought of Liz the entire time! Even dedicating the song (in my mind and heart) to her in the moment.
Get in Touch.
