Thank You for Writing

Wow! Many of you lovely readers are here thanks to Anne and the team at What Should I Read Next?. Firstly, let me say thank you for listening!  And thank you for writing. Reading the emails and messages coming in about the role of letters in your lives has been incredible. 

Thank you for sharing. I am brainstorming a few ways we as a community of letter lovers can share in these powerful stories of love and family. If you have a letter story you'd like to share, please reply to this email. 

Our First Fundraiser

Since 2017 the majority of the letters shared over the course of this project were written by active servicemen, servicewoman, and their families.  When I received the below note from Emily last week, to say I took it as a sign to launch the 'Write More Letters' Project.  

I am pleased to announce the 'Write More Letters' Fundraiser. One hundred percent of proceeds from the sale of these original design shirts, mugs, and masks will go to 'Hope For The Warriors'. Support writing more letters and veterans while looking stylish!  Check out our F.A.Q. blog for more details. 

Hope For The Warriors was founded in 2006 and works to ensure "comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources".

There are a variety of ways to donate! Understanding that these are unusual times, for those who might like to make a donation outside of a purchase there is also a Facebook Fundraiser.  Please consider sharing the fundraiser with your networks as spreading the word is hugely helpful.

Coming Soon: WW2 Letters

Did you know that 2/3 of young adults in the U.S. don't know that the 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust?  With that shocking statistic in mind I am taking this opportunity to promise that the next series Flea Market Love Letters features will focus on the experience of two Jewish men from the U.S. serving in World War II. 

History must not be allowed to continue repeating itself. Watch this space for news of that series as it develops!
