Hack the Handwriting

If you're a regular reader of the archive you'll recognize our "[unreadable]" from transcriptions where we just simply couldn't decipher either a word or sometimes even a whole paragraph! In that spirit, we put together a post with 3 'difficult' to read letters to test your transcribing talents. Good luck!

Unsealed at 80 Years

In the 1970s, World War 2 sweethearts Harry and Zelphia donated their letters to the University of Maine with one stipulation...that they would remain sealed until the couple's 80th anniversary on September 18, 2023. Read their story, here.

We love to see your Write More Letters swag out in the wild! Here Liz Kentish, trustee of 'From Me to You' and friend of the archive, models her 'Write More Letters' Project shirt ahead of a charity letter writing workshop. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of WML are donated to the charity Hope for the Warriors.

Love Letters & Love Songs

Thanks to Trevor from 'The Gramophone Social' for working with us to present 'Love Letters & Love Songs' at the United Arts Club in Dublin on February 21st. It was absolutely unreal to have authentic, period appropriate music accompany a selection of letters chosen for the evening.
