Tuesday

My darling:

Your letter today was so sweet and wonderful -- it makes me want to come see you so much more and as far as I know now -- I’m comin! Anyway your letter was wonderful except for one thing -- I still don’t think it is funny about Willie. I guess you hadn’t gotten my “mad” letter yet but honey please find some other way to tease me.

I had a date tonight -- surprise. One of the nurses out at the hospital is awfully cute and so I gave her a break.

We had lots of fun -- went out to the Dragon Grill and drank beer. Her name is Ruth Paris but darling she isn’t half as sweet as Demaris or 1/1000000000000000000000000 as sweet as you are. I love you.

It is late now -- about one thirty -- and I have to go to work in the morning but not until nine.

The second man was killed last night on the job. He fell from a 60 foot pole and died in a couple of hours. It is terrible when you get to thinking about it. We examine every man on the job and I got to thinking today that you just can’t tell which one will be next. It is very depressing, I think. I guess when I have been a doctor a few years I’ll get used to that sort of thing.

Well, honey, I guess that’s all for now.

I love you

Jimmy
