Stories of Snail Mail

One of my favorite parts of curating this monthly newsletter is collecting stories to share with you. Do you have a found letter story you'd like to share with readers? I'd love to hear from you. 

From a presidential letter to a WWI heartbreak, these are sure to pull on your heartstrings and maybe inspire a a letter or two! 

Lincoln Letter Discovered

Valued at $85,000 a letter from Abraham Lincoln has been put up for sale after 100 years in a private collection. Talk about history!

Reunited Letter

In 1919 Carl Howe wrote a letter home for Mother's Day:'“How I would like to step in and surprise you tomorrow!”' Over 100 years later, MyHeritage returned to the letter to the granddaughter he never met.

Pen Pals for 50 Years

Pen Pals Martha and Shweta recently met after exchanging letters since the age of 12. Martha says of letter writing: "Sending emails is much quicker, but a handwritten letter is so personal, can be kept and re-read, and means much more to the recipient.”

A Love Lost

When Betty found her neighbor about to burn a pile of old papers she discovered a heartbreaking World War I love story that took place in her own home.
