For the week that's in it...Maureen O'Hara & The LettersThis week screen legend Maureen O'Hara would have turned 100 years old. O'Hara was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1920. In 1952 she returned to Ireland with co-star John Wayne and Director, John Ford, to shoot The Quiet Man. After her death in 2015, letters where Ford's romantic interests in the 1950s red head bombshell were discovered among her papers. At auction in 2016 the bundle fetched over $75,000.00. From the Blog: "Here & Now: Dublin, Ireland" Since starting the Flea Market project, I have been fortunately very able to return with a postcard, letter or photograph to its location over 100 years later. These instances have been around the world in: Dublin, Ireland; Easton, Pennsylvania, and even Lucerne, Switzerland!
