Hello Letter Lovers...

Post Office Exploring

Attention mail nerds! I got to explore a retired post office in Minnesota. It's as cool as it sounds! Come along with me as I share the story behind auditing tunnels built into the ceiling and post boxes in the lobby.

Pens for Good

In September, 27 'wood turner' volunteers created 294 pens for the Sgt. Joe Kelly Freedom Pen Foundation Annual 'Turn-A-Thon'. The pens will soon be in the hands of service men and women to write home.

Since 2004 the 'Freedom Pens Project' and now the Sgt. Joe Kelly Freedom Pen Foundation have sent over 275,000 pens to those in the service.

Letters of Kindness

A 27 year old woman in Arkansas is spreading kindness through a pen pal project called 'Kindness Through Letters'. Born with a disability that affected her handwriting, Alison took pen to paper to practice and now she's sent over 1k letters.

Post Office Murals

If you're lucky you live near one of the 1,000 or so post office murals in the U.S. which were part of FDR's 'New Deal' in the 1930s. Earlier this month I got to visit one in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

102 Year Old Widow

Judy, the 102 year old widow of Charlie -- to whom she was married for 71 years before his death -- wrote to historian James Holland. The only problem? She didn't know his address. Holland recently took to the internet to commend the Postal Service for delivering Judy's note to him.

100% of the funds raised go to 'Hope for the Warriors' to support U.S. Veterans and military families.

How We Archive
