Whittaker Letters

A library in Tennessee is looking to return the Whittaker letters— correspondence between Raymond and Jane Whittaker—to their family.

The letters tell of an African American love story set during World War II. How did the letters come to the library? They were donated to the archive by the family that moved into the Whittaker family home a decade ago.
