Writer: Flea Market Love LettersFlea Market Love Letters

To Stell –

About five minutes ago I dropped a letter down the shute that I’d give anything to recall. It just struck me a moment ago that in the hasty postscript I had referred to Harry as “your Harry.” As I thought it over I realized

(over)

That you would read that as sarcasm. Now, dear, that was the last thing I had in my mind at the time.I am very serious and would never intentionally cloud a question by any remark such as that. I just happened to remember the dumb wording I used and how you might interpret it. Strike out the word “your” and you have my meaning correctly.

I know the position you are in and am anxiously waiting for this evening when I shall have time to write in detail.

I will feel very much hurt if you can believe that I would use sarcasm as slurs when we are always so frank, with each other. I don’t know what happened to recall how I had worded that sentence and how it would sound to you, but it just struck me as a flash after I mailed the letter.

Pardon the scratch paper as I am terribly rushed and this must reach you the same time as my other letter.

I love you heaps, dear.

Leon
