“Italy”

Dear Friend

Am sorry that I have not answered your most welcome letter. But have been very busy and have not had much time. But I promise not to wait and minute from now on to answer each and every one of your letters. And when the war is over, and I am home again, I will tell you why I haven’t had time to answer your letter. I could write it in here, but it would never get to you. It would just be cut out.

Received your package, and believe me I enjoyed it. Enjoyed it more than you will ever know all that I can say is thanks for I can’t return any gift. For there is not any to much left in Italy. But maybe in some city I will run across something that you will like.

I am well and feeling fine, all except for a cold. Outside of that I am well. And I sure hope you are well and feeling fine. And hope that you are able to get out in the sun. And enjoy yourself.

Tell all the folks hello for me. And when they have time to write me sometime. Had better close for this time. Hoping you have a “Merry Christmas” and a “Happy New Year”.

Paul
