Hello Letter Lovers...

Dear 2022 💌

Thank you for another wonderful year of snail mail support. In today's newsletter we'll take a look at the year behind us. We're getting ready to greet 2023 soon with lots of new series and new ways to keep the letter alive and well. Till then I am sending  you the warmest wishes for a bright and brilliant New Year.



Appreciation of Letters

To me this season is all about gratitude. That's why I am extra delighted to extend a warm and hearty thanks to the team at the National Postal Museum for the invitation to participate in November's "In Appreciation of Letters" talk. It was such a pleasure and per the very kind requests of some who weren't able to join us, the Museum has now made the talk available on their YouTube channel. 


This Year in Letters

I don't know about you but I blinked and this year flew past. That's why I was amazed to sit down and do some figures on what we shared as an archive in 2023. Drumroll please! 



There were 113 letters in total from the McAllister, Dickey, Roth, Speilman, and Osborn series that went up on the site. That brings our total of letters published since 2017 to 637 letters from 23 different series of letter writers. 


Write More Letters

Thank you for an another year of the Write More Letters project! Through the sale of stickers, mugs, totes, tees, and hoodies we raise funds for the charity "Hope For the Warriors" which benefits U.S. Veterans and Military families. 



A Book About Letters

Check out our 2022 Books About Letters Wrap Up where we've pulled together this years reads. Thank you to all who have recommended reads or written in after discovering a read from the series, it's so lovely to hear from friends of the archive!



Collector Turned Author 

This is one for those of you who enjoy "real life" found letter stories like those we feature on the archive. Fellow collector Lisa Franco has released a book of letters -- "My Dearest Darling" -- which she found while antiquing. Franco speaks about her feelings of destiny and responsibility to preserve the Connecticut couple's letters. 



Talking Letters

Thanks to Sean Moncrieff and the team at 'Moncrieff on NewstalkFM for inviting me on early this month to chat about the importance of letter writing.
