Flea Market Love Letters
April 13, 1943.

Dear Folks,
As you can see by the postage this is Wilson calling. Jimmy Gilabins home town. We probably get to take a look at it tonight when I hope to mail this.
Naturally just why I’m here I don’t know. We are guarding the rail line. I don’t think that telling any more than the popular here can see.
Just before while I was on post a coloured lady came along with her small daughter. The kid didn’t want to pass because she said he has a gun. Her mother said she was interested in my hat. She had seen them in the movies. So I showed it to her. The kid still did care for me, I still had the gun. THe people here have been more surprised by our presence than us and have been treating us great.
Probably be back in Bragg tomorrow.
Love,
Bill
